Senate to pass 2016 budget on March 17th

                                
Barring any last minute changes, the Senate will on March 17th pass the 2016 budget into law. This was announced by the Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriation, Senator Danjuma Goje and his House of Representatives counterpart, Hon. Jibrin Abdulmumim at a joint press briefing yesterday March 2nd.

They said the National Assembly is on course to ensure that all the areas of controversies grey areas in the budget proposal is resolved.

Meet Tanzania's first female Vice President

                
Samia Suluhu Hassan, 55, was announced Vice President of Tanzania in the 2015 General Elections, alongside Tanzania's ruling party candidate John Magufuli. Suluhu is married to Hafidh Ameir and they have four children. The National Electoral Commission announced on Thursday, October 29, that Magufuli won the presidential election after the opposition challenged the tallying process and demanded a recount.

Dayo 'D1' Adeneye nominated as a commissioner in Ogun state


At a plenary yesterday October 22nd, the Speaker, Rt.Hon. Surajudeen Ishola Adekunbi read out ta letter from the Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, wherein names of five additional commissioner nominees to be screened today October 23 by 11am. were contained.

The following names are: Mrs. Modupeola Mujota. Mr. Adedayo Adeneye. Mrs.Adenrele Adesina 4.Mr. Babajide Odubanjo. 5.Mr. Adewale Oshinowo‎. Big congrats to him.

Obanikoro congratulates Ambode

President Jonathan loses to Buhari inside Aso Rock

                                

According to reports by Punch and Vanguard, President Jonathan lost to Buhari in the election conducted inside Aso Rock. At polling unit 22, PDP had 302 votes while APC had 348 votes, while at polling unit 21 - PDP had 293 votes while APC had 265 votes.

Collation of results from both polling units gave the PDP a total vote of 595 while the APC had a total of 613‎ votes. The president won the election at the two polling units in 2011.

Meanwhile, APC won PDP 499 to 0 votes in Buhari’s polling unit in Sakin Yara “A”, Kofar Baru 3 in Daura LGA of Katsina state. Out of 501 votes cast in the presidential polls, APC got 499, PDP had no vote, while 3 votes were voided.

INEC releases Presidential results from 10 LGs in Ogun state. APC leading



INEC has released results of the Presidential election in 10 local governments in Ogun State. As at 2:pm on Sunday March 29th in Abeokuta, APC won seven with wide margin while PDP won the remaining three local government areas.

The local government areas released so far include Obafemi-Owode, Abeokuta North, Odogboolu, Odeda, Imeko-Afon, Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode, Remo-North, Ewekoro, and Ijebu North-East. See details after the jump...

Election result in Abuja so far: APC polls 10,853, PDP gets 7,762

                               

INEC this evening released results for FCT, Abuja and so far, APC is leading. APC won the Presidential election with 10,853 votes while PDP scored 7,762.

Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Evuti of the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Abuja told journalists that the council has 10 wards and the total number of registered voters is 42, 401, while accredited voters is 20, 017.

A breakdown of votes received by political parties show ACPN 14, ADC 11, APC 10, 853, NCP 25, PDP 7,762, PPN 16, UDP 03, APA 26, AA 09, KOWA 03, CPP 16, HDP 02, AD 05 and UPP 02. Source -Vanguard

Gen. Buhari wins in Ogun state



APC Presidential candidate, Gen Buhari has been announced the winner of the Presidential election in Ogun state. The state Collating Officer, Duro Oni, while announcing the results at the commission's secretariat in Ogun state this night said of the total 559,613 votes cast, Gen Buhari pulled 308,290 to defeat President Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who pulled 207,950.

She stated that the APC won in 13 local governments while PDP won in 7.

Why I am not visible in Buhari's campaign - Atiku Abubakar


     
Former Vice President and Chieftain of the APC, Atiku Abubakar says he's rarely present at APC campaign rallies because the party's campaign secretariat don't consult or invite him. Atiku said this in an interview with BBC Hausa earlier today.
